FAQ

How Do I...

If you’ve never had a library card through Coastline Libraries, you can apply online here. Your application will be processed and your library card mailed to the address you provide.

You can also come in during our browsing hours to fill out an application. Please bring photo ID and proof of local address.

From "My Account" tab on the front page, click on the "Reset My Password" option. If you do not use email, please contact the library for assistance.

Whether it’s a book from your personal library or a book you have written, you are more than welcome to donate it (please call ahead if you’re planning on donating more than a couple items). However, please be aware that we may not add the item to our collection due to condition, age, or content that does not fit our collection management policy. Items that are not added to the collection are given to the Friends of the Library Bookstore.

You can log into your online library account (every patron is automatically given one when they receive their library card), or you can contact the library.

You should receive notification of your holds via email, phone call, or physical mail when your item(s) are ready to be picked up. Please be sure to check your junk email if that is the notification system you have signed up for.

You can also check your online library account for the status of your holds.

Go to www.coosbaylibrary.org and click on "My Account." Enter your library card barcode and password. If you do not know your password click on the “Reset My Password” option. If you do not use email, please contact the library for assistance.

Please watch the following video on how to log into your library account and place holds.

Go to www.coosbaylibrary.org, and type the title of the item you’re looking for into the search bar near the top of the page.

First be sure that you have turned in all your items; all overdue fines will be waived once items have been checked in UNLESS fines have already gone into Collections. If an item has been damaged or lost, please contact the library.

Log into your library account and search the catalog. When you find the item you’re looking for, click “place hold.” Make sure you choose the library from where you’d like to pick up the item, and click “Confirm hold.”  Please watch the following video on how to log into your account and place holds.

You can also call the library for assistance with placing holds.

Please contact the library to renew your card. You will be using the same card as before; you will just need to verify your information to the library.
